How to Look Up a Court Case in Gage County?
The Nebraska Judiciary's online database — known as the JUSTICE system — is your best starting point for searching Gage County court cases remotely. Are Court Records Public in Gage County?

Gage County Criminal Court Records
Felony criminal cases in Gage County are handled exclusively by the District Court, which also serves as an appellate court for appeals from the County Court and administrative agencies. For a statewide criminal history report — which covers all Nebraska arrests resulting in fingerprinting and their dispositions — submit your request to the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division. Two types of reports are available:
- Name-based criminal history (RAP sheet) — Available to the general public. Requires at minimum the subject's full name and date of birth. Fee: $30.00 per request, payable by cash, check, or money order.
- Fingerprint-based national background check — Available only when required by state or federal law.

Under Nebraska Statute § 29-3523, certain arrest records must be removed from the public criminal history in specified circumstances — including arrests where no charges were filed after one year and arrests resulting in dismissal upon completion of a diversion program.
Gage County Civil Court Records
Civil cases in Gage County are split between the two courts based on the amount in dispute. The District Court hears civil cases involving more than $53,000, equity cases, and civil appeals from the County Court and administrative agencies. County Court small claims filing carries a total fee of $58.00 (NRS § 25-2804), with a $50.00 cost bond required for any appeal. A small claims case transferred to regular civil court requires an additional $20.00. County Court photocopies are $0.25 per page (NRS § 33-126.05).

Gage County Family Court Records
Family law matters in Gage County — divorces, paternity determinations, child custody, child support, and visitation — are filed with and maintained by the District Court Clerk. Protection order applications are also processed by the District Court Clerk and carry no filing fee under NRS § 42-924.01. Marriage and divorce certificates are held by the Nebraska DHHS Vital Records Office, not the courts. The DHHS charges $16.00 per certified copy for both marriage and divorce certificates, and applicants must present acceptable proof of identification.

Birth and death certificates — relevant in paternity, guardianship, and estate proceedings — are also issued by the Nebraska DHHS Vital Records Office. Certified birth certificates cost $17.00 per copy; the fee is waived for individuals requesting their own certificate who lack a current Nebraska driver's license or state ID for voting purposes. Certified death certificates cost $16.00 per copy. Both are restricted to individuals with a qualifying interest.
